Day 2
Loss: 0.5kg
morning all!! just had my coffee and dukan bread for midday snack.. yum.
Today's weight was 62.6 - so less of a drop from the previous day but very happy.
The weather in Madrid these days is so gorgeous. It semms like spring, but May weather spring. It hasn't rained (like real rain, not just a few drops, but good old three days in a row raining) in like 3 months, which is terrible as Madrid is a city with high polution and you can tell in the air that we are suffocating. Plus the countryside is so dry, and the lakes at very low levels, like the ones we would expect in August. So... we are very very concerned. Anyway, in the meantime we are enjoying the nice weather. Bad thing is I am too tempted to use my Vespa instead of walking... oh well.
Also this weekend B and I are going to Valencia to the "fallas" so eating will be a challenge. Specially because we have already planned a paella with friends on Sunday.
On my last Dukan attempt I had a "celebration" meal even if on Cruise phase every once in a while. Obviously my weight loss was slower but it was the price to pay. I did not mind at all. So, Fallas here I come, I hope the scales wont punish me too much. Until Friday though I will behave. I also just cancelled tomorrow's sushi lunch with a friend we had planned beofre re-attakcing Dukan... we will meet next week, preferably not sushi!!
This diet is very easy to do, just need to plan ahead!!
Today's lunch: Chicken breast with sautéed onions and tofu
Have a great day!

Attack Day 1 - check!!
I had written such a long (and ofcourse lovely) post and it got deleted... argg hate that!!
As I was saying today's weight 63.1 (wooohoooo!!!) that's a great start to the attack phase, although I have to say that the 64.5 reading yesterday morning probably had that extra .5 due to the amazing lunch Sunday which was so delicious that it can be the best bye-bye to non-diet eating meal ever.
I know that tomorrow's drop won't be as spectacular, but I have to say that this a bit over 1kg loss has boosted my ego and my will power to get back on track.
About an hour and a half ago my colleagues came out of a meeting with clients and brought over with them the left over croissants and orange juice and I did not even sniff them!! I simply grabbed my bag and took out my Dukan Bread sandwich with Philly and Turkey (the dukan nutella recipee in the linked post is only for cruise and only in case of chocolate emergency). Once again preparation is key....
Have a great Tuesday everyone and beware of the Diet Troll I haven't seen him around... YET! but me... I'm back!!
Cheers!!

Blogging at work!!
Found a workaround to logging into blogger at work. Normally we cannot acces Gmail or hotmail or facebook or any of this stuff, but aparently (since i am currently blogging) blogger is not on the red list!! yay!!
Yesterday's weight: 60.7 (-0,6 since Tuesday)
today's weight: 60.8
total lost since Jan 2012: 1.4kg
Up 100 gr since yesterday, which was expected but I am happy to see it's not a big increase. Yesterday we had our anouncement of promotions, salary raises etc, and it went quite well... no raise for me, but I did get a promotion.. yay!! In the current market situation a no-raise is normal, so it was expected, and I am not at all disappointed. Having a JOB is what counts right now. So, becuase it was THE DAY we went out to lunch, the whole team with the boss as there were other promotions to celebrate as well, and I behaved myself quite well... i had a steak tartar (raw minced meat marinated in mustard, capers and other stuff i don't know) however i did have one tiny toast that came with it and as a starter a bit of Burrata with truffled olive oil!! mmmm
Then at dinner time i went with my nephew and one of my cousins, who is his age, to Burger King. I sat there seeing them eat their chicken tenders and fries and a mini sandy with caramel ... oh dear, that was hard!! In the end I wasn't able to resist and had 2 chicken tenders (ohhh no!!) then I left them both at their respective homes and went with my parents for a drink to tell them about the promotion.. so wine and picky food (very very little, but I sinned anyway) ... so, result: already cheated on the 3rd day of my second reboot AND gained 0.1kg since yesterday
Moonday would say its a just punishment... and I should do like Charlotte and start putting stats up for how many days I go without cheating or since the last cheat!!
Anyway, today's menu:
Breakfast: 2 cafe latte
Snack: 1/2 Dukan ham and cheese sandwich
Lunch: Hard boiled egg and a nice plate of cooked shrimp with garlic + yogurt
snack: will have another yogurt if I get hungry
dinner: might go out, so will have to watch out.. if not tuna steak ( I took two big tuna steaks out of the freezer, one for tonight and one for tomrrow's tupperware lunch)
Cheers all!!

Attack and Christmas traditions
Attack Day 2 – Dukan 2012
TW: 61,7 (-0,5)
Starting weight 2012: 62.2
Lost since version 1: 2,4
Lost since version 2: 0,5
So half a kilo, not bad! Yesterday’s dinner was finally a soft boiled egg + ham + a bit of the left over tuna (straight from the can!)
Today I was better prepared:
Breakfast: 2 café late + dukan bread sandwich with philly + ham
Lunch: two small lovely veil steaks + hard boiled egg with runny yolk – not soft boiled runny but runny… (yummy!)
Snack later: yogurt
Dinner tonight: will be tricky as I am meeting B… and eating out.. but I am planning on having a delicious steak tartar at our favorite place! (will probably sneak in a glass of wine… lets admit it)
Its hard not to cheat at work with all the leftover Christmas candies lying around. Plus, tomorrow is the day before the “three wise men” come to bring gifts to children so we have only half day of work ending with a coffe and “roscón” which is a traditional pastry for this day .. a bit of an explanation on both so you know what I am talking about…
In The Bible it is said that three wise men visited Jesus after his birth, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. The 3 wise men, or 3 kings, are regular figures in traditional celebrations of Christmas and are an important part of the Christian tradition in Spain. On the night of the 5th to the 6th of January (Epiphany) they come to Spanish homes – by the way they travel by camel - to bring the gifts that children have asked for by sending a letter (well, to all, not just children he he he) The 6th of Jan is a holiday so kids get the whole day to play with their new toys. School vacation ends after the 6th of Jan (yea, 2 weeks off school for Christmas, how lucky are we??)
On that day we eat a special pastry called “roscón” (see pic) Its basically sweet bread and for decoration, fig fruit, cherries, almond flakes or dried and candied fruits are used they can be filled with cream or not (I don’t like it with cream inside) Roscones hide in their interior a figure - either of baby Jesus or others like little toys for kids and a dry faba bean. Whoever finds the figure is crowned and becomes the "king" or "queen" of the banquet, whereas whoever finds the bean has to pay next year's roscón.
Traditions are fun!! But why do they always include carbs, sweets, drinks… argg! So tomorrow when the Roscón comes… I need to hide somewhere! Haha!

2nd post today - Dukan Bread and Dukan Nutella
Just thought while i was doing my dukan bread to share the recipe (i posted it on a comment in Viki's blog once) and also a recipe of what I did with the left over yolk - NUTELLA!
so here it goes
DUKAN BREAD
ingredients:
2 Tbsp oat bran
1 Tbsp wheat bran
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 egg white
1 Tbsp fat-free yogurt or quark-type cheese
Seasonings/spices(e.g., garlic powder)- optional
1) Mix the dry ingredients in a microwave-safe, rectangular container (so that it comes out like a thin slice of bread), then add the egg white and the yogurt. Mix everything well, and add a pinch of salt.
2) Cover with plastic wrap, then punch a couple holes in it with a fork. Microwave (on max power) for 3 minutes.
4) After 3 minutes, take it out, flip it over, cover, and put in the microwave for 1 more minute. Then take it out and leave it on a grill-type surface (so that it has air all around it) until it cools down.
5) Toast it before eating.
DUKAN NUTELLA!!
I used the egg yolk after using the whites for the bread
1 Egg yolk
1 Tsp of powder fat free milk
1 Tsp of fat free cocoa powder
1 Tsp of liquid sweetner
Hazelnut Aroma - one drop - optional
Mix the egg yolk with the teaspoon of cocoa - the mixture will be very thick but you just need to continue mixing. Then mix the powder milk, same thing, dont despair and keep mixing even if very very thick. The mixture will start to become dark dark brown. Add the teaspoon of liquid sweetner this will help a bit with the thickness. If too thick add a drop of milk. Add the drop of hazelnut aroma (optional)
Leave in the fridge a couple of hours or until you eat it!! yummm
With these amounts you will get very little amount of Nutella, but enough for at least two slices of your Dukan bread.
Enjoy!!! (will add picture tomorrow when i prepare my nutella toast in the morning!)
This is dedicated to those that like Moonday lick the nutella off their fingers when they prepare it for someone else ;o)

The Power - Snap!
I'm at 50% of my goal!! PP day today (minus a bit of red roasted pepper in my salad)
Today’s weight: 60.3
Daily loss: 0.7
So this week I’ve had what Charlotte calls a WHOOSH!! A Full kilo!! Granted it was TTOM weight that I had put on during the weekend, but just seeing the 60’s today has made my day.
Yesterday I finally went grocery shopping, but I bought a big pot of yogurt and I did not realize it was sweetened! So, my dukan bread is now sort of sweet, and the dukan mayo I made as well…
The bread is fine, it actually tastes better! The mayo.. not bad as I went a bit too heavy on the mustard, so actually the bit I tried when making it was kind of nice. Blogging from work again so I have not yet had my food, ill edit tonight and tell you how it was!
Breakfast: Low fat Café late + dukan sandwich with 0% fat cream cheese and turkey (@10)
Snack: we’ll see if I need it
Lunch: Tuna steak + what we call in Spain a “Russian salad” – normally it has baked potato, tuna, boiled egg, roasted red peppers, peas, carrots, olives (and whatever you want actually) – all mixed up with mayo (pic below of how it would look like nicely decorated) but I only used today tuna, peppers, egg and the dukan mayo.
Snack: slices of ham
Dinner: Tonight my parents and some friends are coming to my place for a drink. There will be wine and some mini sandwiches for them, but I’ll also put out some cold cuts which will be what I eat! I can’t promise I won’t have a glass of wine, but I will try to have a diet coke and that’s it!
Its incredible how much will power I had this week. Yesterday we had the bi-annual meeting with the big big boss so it was a sandwich lunch, I excused myself claiming to have an urgent call with a client and ate my Tupperware lunch. Then in the evening we went for a drink, the whole team to celebrate that all went well and some picky food was ordered, nothing dukan except for mini burgers. I had 2 diet cokes and the mini hamburger without the bread, and left feeling Grrrreat for it. Let’s see if tonight the willpower is still there!!
Cheers fellow dukaners!

Cruise day 40 – PP
Today’s weight: 61,5
Daily gain/loss: none
Total weight loss: 2,6 kg.
Yesterday’s pasta and chocolate potential gain were equaled out by a very light dinner. Happy about the 0 move on the scale, it could have been worse. Today I’ve stuck to a perfect PP day so I’ll be disappointed if the scales don’t go down at least 0.300 gr as it will also be 3rd day of TTOM and water weight should be leaving me!
Breakfast: Coffe with Non-fat milk @ 7.30
Snack: coffee with a dukan bread ham sandwich – or late breakfast (@10.45)
Lunch: Meat with onion and garlic sauce - I added a beef bouillon to the onion and garlic +water and then put it thru the blender..mmmm very nice…
Snack: crab sticks
Dinner: 2 Soft boiled eggs + yogurt
I have now become an expert in doing my dukan bread.. its better each time. Now I let it settle before putting it in the microwave so that the oat and wheat bran expand and become fluffier with the yogurt and the yeast, so I get thicker slices of bread that I can cut in two to make the top and bottom loafs of the sandwich. Yummy.
I have to say that I admit I cheat a lot, but I am losing weight, very slowly, but losing. I don’t have that much to lose and I prefer doing it this way, I believe that slow weight loss helps the body adapt or consolidate that loss, and it makes the diet much more “doable” for me. I am sure many wouldn’t agree and I actually envy all of you that don’t cheat at all!! For years I weighed around 60 (kilo up, kilo down) and was comfortable with my weight / figure, but if I can reach 57, even if it is slowly then I’m happy. I guess I’m just trying to justify my cheating..
No song today.. couldn't think of any.... :)
But i found a parking space (garage) for my vespa... (its not the one in the pic)

cruise day 22 - PP & baking bread and muffins
Day 26 of diet
Cruise day 22 – PP
Weight 61.6 (+0.2)
Total Lost -2.5kg
Perfect PP day today! (oh, except for half a tomato...)
Okay, so last night I was very very well behaved, had two coke-light (I’m a big wine drinker so coke on a girly night out is a BIG deal) one of the girls ordered several things for all to share and I ate a bit of everything but in very small, very very small portions. Not all was dukan friendly but i did very well and was proud of myself... but i didnt make the bread, so no sandwich today...
B went back home for the weekend, back on Sunday, which is bad 'cos i don't get to see him (awwww), but good for my diet tonight and tomorrow, as Sunday we are going for lunch at a friend's house from school. Just as background B and I met in school when we were 16, and have both had long relationships before, but we got together now, 20 years later!! through the years we've been in constant contact with each other and with other friends from school, and we all organize get-togethers ever couple of months.... i think its prety cool.
Anyway, Sunday big lunch, where i will try as hard as i did last night to eat dukan friendly, and if not... well very small portions just to taste and not be rude. Lunch will be informal picky food again (tapas) ... lets see how it goes!
As i write i am waiting for batch of cinamon muffins in the oven, following Vicki C's recipe and will post picture later once their done. Thanks Vicki for the recipe and will let you know how they turned out tomorrow!I also did some bread for tomorrow's breakfast!
Here's the pic.. they look darker than Vicki's... im a bit scheptical, will tell you about it tomorrow!
That's all for now!! time to clean kitchen and choose a film to watch!

Cruise day 21 – PP
Day 25
Cruise day 21 – PP
Weight: ¿?
Total loss -2.7
So today I was at B’s and therefore no weigh in. I did good yesterday. Besides the salad on what was meant to be a PP day the rest was perfect and I walked my almost 3 km.
Dinner had a slight cheat, which was normal cheese instead of fat free.. but just ham seemed a bit sad. Anyway I did little “ham and cheese rolls” and a yogurt. B had the same but the ham and cheese between two delicious looking slices of bread!! Oh how I envied him!
Yesterday I saw a friend while walking to my parents and she said “you’ve lost weight!!” – it was sooooo wonderful to hear that!!!!
Yesterday I cooked my lunch for today. Minced meat with onions and tomato sauce (my Bolognese without pasta meal) so...
Brekko: coffee (tall late)
Lunch: pastaless Bolognese + yoguourt
Snack: ff yogourt
Dinner: will be tricky ... going out for a "drink" which in Spain implies you ask for some picky food to share or tapas.. lets see if i can stick to the Dukan friendly stuff (ham, tomto and tuna salad... )
Tonight B was going to watch football with friends so I planned a nice quiet night on my own and wanted to cook some of those muffin recepies ive seen out there… I tried once and didn’t like them but I will give it another try. Also I wanted to do some dukan bread. Last time it was delicious. I really feel like a “sandwich” after watching B eat it yesterday!! I might have time to do the bread before going out, if so tomorrow for lunch Dukan Sandwich.. oh yea!!!
Walked home from work... tomorrow bike goes to the repair shop so will walk again tomorrow. Once bike is all set i will not have the opportunity to walk home but i have a plan... more to come!!!
